Mid-term Project

My midterm project on illustrate the song named “Here comes the sun” from The Beatles. This is also one of my favorite songs from the Beatles. The main idea on this song is about hopeful of the success, like the sunset in the morning. I tried to express this illustrate into the abstract of sun set. Firstly, the sun in my illustration is using only curves and straight lines to illustrate it. I also tried to start from white color in the middle and spread it out to be yellow color. I choose this 2 color because this 2 color represent the hopeful success energy and especially this 2 color is the simple of the sun. On the sky, I paint a lot of curves in different tone of blue colors and make it look like it expanding from the sun. This expanding represents the hopeful from people that expect to get the success, to get the sun. Lastly, there are also mountains that represent the problem which barrier the success. As you see the color of the mountain, it starts from darker color to lighter color. This is mean once people pass the barrier they will get closer to success, like the color from the mountain which starts from dark to light. Finally, I try all my best on this illustrate and I hope everyone will understand the feeling of this picture and like it.

10 Abstract Expressions Art

My work is the expression from 10 words converts to abstract painting. Ten words are : magic, fresh, spicy, grow, sorrow, danger, pure, love, excite, and luxury. I try to express these words to an abstract and easy to understand by using color, shapes, lines, dots, and feelings.

2nd Assignment : Favorite illustrator

This work is inspiration by women actor who combination cartoon and fashion together in the theme of culture, such as, hip-hop, sexy, and etc. Her name is Juls or J*WLS or Julie Bouiguerourene, a French Illustrator.

I illustrate the fashion-cartoon drawing by using Juls’s technique, cartoon, color and teen culture. I try to express street culture fashion in this work with the colorful costume.

1st Assignment : Self-Portrait

This is my self-portrait which represents my characteristic on these 5 words, ‘Funny’, ‘Friendly’, ‘Fashion’, ‘Creative’, and importantly ‘Cartoon’.

I draw it as a ‘Cartoon’ portrait to represent me who I loves Japanese cartoon. Also, I’m a ‘Funny’ and ‘Friendly’ which show on my smile in self-portrait. Moreover, I like ‘Fashion’ so I design nice costumes for which refer to my style on my self-portrait. In addition, I put the brick-wall with graffiti because I really like to be creative and to make new original works.

Fashion Illustion

'Fashion Illustration' is about drawing an illustration to design new clothing and accessories. It has been around for nearly 500 years. Ever since clothes have been in existence and there was a need to translate an idea or image into a garment there has been a need for fashion illustration. Not only do fashion illustrations show a representation or design of a garment but also served as a form of art. Fashion illustration shows the presence of hand and is said to be a visual luxury.

Juls or J*WLS ( or Julie Bouiguerourene ) is a pretty sick French Illustrator. Living and working in Paris as a freelance illustrator, her work is full of freshness and energy, illustrating well the world of fashion and Street culture of today. During her world tour between Paris, Seattle, London and Tokyo she works with publications such as Wad or Elle Girl Japan.

Juls’s techniques and characters are to be a mix of drawing and vectorism. She said “I used to draw a lot in my sketchbooks, but I mainly use my computer & tablet pad now to develop a style of my own and also to associate the traditional techniques to new technologies.”

Critique Works

Left: This work is inspiration from pop culture, street and hip hop culture.
She uses colorful color to represent the hip hop and street cultures.


Right: This work is inspiration from high fashion which base on the luxury tone.

Left: This work is design for a female fashion so she used pink color, which associates with female very well. Also, the lines are look like Japaness cartoon because this fashion advertise base on Tokyo.


Right: This work is inspiration for the donut-advertise which have a really nice idea on the posting of the character in the illustration.
